Indirect Purchasing Specialist (Bilingual)

TITLE: Indirect Purchasing Specialist (Bilingual)

SALARY: Competitive salary (based on experience)

LOCATION: Richmond Hill, ON

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Full Time, Permanent

  • Analyze market conditions and trends in order to assess present and future risk of material availability
  • Identify, negotiate and qualify potential vendors in order to secure more cost-effective sources of goods and services
  • Prepare monthly purchasing reports, maintain required documentation and provide various ad-hoc reports
  • Provide effective communication with suppliers and maintain relationships with key suppliers
  • Successful resolution of vendor or contractor grievances, and any claims against suppliers
  • ERP (SAP / Ariba) facilitation to all North American locations
  • Assist the North American purchasing team with the management of Class A vendors (top vendor list with 80% spend)
  • Develop specifications, manage the tendering process, successfully negotiate elements of contractual agreements and facilitate related continuous improvement projects in order to maintain a high degree of control
  • Provide recommendations in the development and achievement of purchasing targets that support the company’s goals
  • Provide bench-marking analysis of vendors goods and services
  • Identify opportunities and facilitate implementation of vendor consolidation
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong purchasing / strategic sourcing background with proven successes in developing and implementing aggressive purchasing plans either directly or through advisory engagements
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred
  • Strong Analytics skills and Finance literacy
  • Strong Project Management knowledge
  • Experience with Commodity management is an asset
  • Self-driven / motivated individual
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain or other Business function
  • 5+ years progressive experience
  • Negotiation skills and experience working in a strategic environment
  • Experience in SAP
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience in IT, telecom, travel and facility management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
