HR Systems Manager


TITLE: HR Systems Manager

SALARY: $107,000-$134,000/year

LOCATION: Toronto, ON

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Temporary, 2 Years


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead a team of technology specialists and administrators for the effective daily management of HR applications
  • Supervise vendor and consultant relationships with ongoing monitoring of delivery against expectations
  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand and fulfill the HR vision and roadmap
  • Lead efforts for new software selection including Build vs Buy assessment, development of RFI/RFP, review and evaluation of commercial off the shelf (COTS) software products through final recommendation
  • Actively scan and evaluate meaningful new technologies which drive standardization and reduction of complexity within the organization globally
  • Research market and industry trends, conduct cost analysis and recommend strategies and programs based on findings
  • Play leading role in optimizing the way HR systems support HR process improvement through implementation of new modules and enhanced processes and functionality, while leveraging existing and new HR systems
  • Work with all areas of HR to evaluate business processes and system capabilities and make recommendations and proposals for systems improvements
  • Work with project stakeholders to map business requirements to project deliverables, resource planning & project plans. Provide input into project plans, cost and/or resource estimating activities
  • Develop project proposals and estimates that reflect understanding of business needs and relevant technology solutions
  • Oversee the project management cycles associated with multiple application projects.
  • Ensure that all steps of the project from business case development/capital funding requests, vendor selection through RFP, and full project lifecycle stages are carried out in an optimum way to ensure successful and timely completion of projects. This includes developing and communicating project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, calendars, resource schedules, budgets and other reports
  • Providing systems subject matter expertise on related HR projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must be bilingual: Full proficiency in English with working knowledge of either French or Spanish
  • 5-7 years of experience in technology project management and leadership or application management
  • 5+ years of experience working in various HR functions or in a HR process re-engineering role
  • 3 or more years of experience with human capital management systems
  • Previous experience performing or leading all aspects of HR applications including maintenance, implementation, enhancements and upgrades
  • Experience managing in a decentralized business model
  • Excellent time management, negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills
  • PMP designation an asset
