Legal Assistant (Real Estate)


TITLE: Legal Assistant (Real Estate)

SALARY: $50,000 - $68,000/year (depending on experience)

LOCATION: Toronto, ON

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Full time, permanent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Handling all administrative duties such as file openings and ongoing file maintenance, preparing cheque requests, coordinating meetings, processing incoming and outgoing mail and preparing expense reports.
  • Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system as well as providing appropriate reminders.
  • Under legal professional supervision, preparing legal documents according to precedents and/or instructions.
  • Reporting on title searches, off-title searches and preparing Teraview documents.
  • Assisting with arrangements for closings and provide administrative support during closings.
  • Assisting with entering and finalizing time dockets.
  • Liaising with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts.
  • Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis.
  • Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course
  • 3-5 years’ related working experience
  • In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology and of commercial real estate
  • Strong technical skills using MS Office 2010
  • Experience working with Elite Webview, Worksite DMS, and Teraview
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
