Human Resources Manager


TITLE: Human Resources Manager

SALARY: $80,000 - $85,000/year + bonus

LOCATION: Scarborough, ON
(Option of working from either Oakville or Scarborough)

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Full time, Permanent


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Function as a business partner to strategize, plan, implement and support all human resources activities, projects and programs within the territory
  • Provide consultative advice and guidance on employee relations activity
  • Working in collaboration with our management teams in the various offices and plants
  • Generalist approach to support internal management teams in their HR initiatives and provide compliance advice where needed
  • Develop and facilitate training for the leaders of the locations
  • Some recruitment support through consulting of the recruitment process and direct involvement in the recruitment of professional positions
  • Multi-location focus and support
  • Consultative approach
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong generalist background with at least 5 years' progressive experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-location focus with some exposure to unionized environments would be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Business and/or Human Resources
  • CHRL or working towards the designation is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards legislation and progressive HR policies and practices
  • Highly proactive and has demonstrated an ability to make things happen
  • Ability to build trust and work effectively with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Strong computer knowledge, i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
  • Exposure and knowledge of US labour standards will be considered an asset
  • Bilingual (French & English) is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
