Corporate Legal Assistant


TITLE: Corporate Legal Assistant

SALARY: Based On Experience

LOCATION: Toronto, ON

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Full time, Permanent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Independently manage and organize the daily operation of a busy Financial Services/Corporate Commercial practice for a Partner
  • Prepare, draft, edit and finalize closing agendas and all transactional documents relating to lending and corporate transactions
  • Organize and track delivery of closing documents
  • Draft renewal agreements for lending transactions
  • Prepare annual resolutions
  • Compile Record Books
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
  • Handle administrative details with respect to accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, expenses etc.
  • Proofreading and checking documents
  • Diarize and track deadlines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years’ legal experience within Financial Services and/or Corporate law
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in a related Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
  • Strong technical skills using MS Office 2013 including experience with creating, numbering, styling and rebuilding documents
  • Knowledge of Workshare Compare or a similar document comparison program
  • Some experience with document management system would be an asset
  • Extremely organized and meticulous with accuracy and detail
  • Strong proofreading, spelling and grammar skills
  • Ability to work independently, take a lot of initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Flexible, team player that is client service oriented
